Research indicates that many of the problems children are facing today including Autism and ADD are rooted in digestive conditions.  It is now well understood that Autism and ADD are neurological-digestive-immune disorders.  The brain, gut and immune system are all interrelated, and a problem within one system affects the others.  Optimal digestion is therefore an important focus and healthy eating is key to working toward optimal digestion.

Children with immune system dysfunction often have problems such as allergies and intolerances.  They have significant difficulties with synthetics in foods, as their bodies have to work harder to break down these 'foreign' substances.  Healthy eating is key to building a healthy immune system.

Environmental chemicals, including those added to our food supply act as neurotoxins.  The food that we eat must nourish the brain as well as the rest of the body.  Healthy eating is key to supporting healthy neurological functioning.

Along with appropriate educational and behavioral interventions, healthy eating is an important part of programming for children.
